State of Utah Saves More Than $1 Million As the size of its vehicle fleet kept getting bigger, Utah finally came to realize that centralizing and outsourcing its maintenance was the only maintenance strategy that made sense. Today ARI handles those activities for more than 3,000 of Utah’s 7,250 vehicles (the balance are owned by the state). warranty recovery. In fact, Utah has saved approximately $1,062,880 in just over four years. Cost-per-mile also decreased dramatically. In one year alone, the state saved $583,000, a 9% overall decrease in cost-per-mile over the prior year—savings attributed directly to ARI’s centralized maintenance management system.
